One of the most beautiful creatures I've ever seen --
Edited on Tue Jul-19-05 11:39 PM by Radio_Lady
This is an albino peacock -- posted at Comcast.net by "Linda" (NLN -- no last name) tonight.

I love peacock feathers (the last peacock chased us around some castle grounds in Scotland, so I'm not vouching for their personality) -- but isn't this is a gorgeous bird? Must be rare -- not sure if it has blue or red eyes.

I don't know much about albinism, except for the fact that it only occurs infrequently and the individuals have some weaknesses, such as their eyes. Fill in the details for me, I'd be interested if you know more.

Enjoy this picture!

3. Phew...
For a moment there, I thought you were posting my picture.

I know a bit about the natural history of these beasts but nothing about the albino part -- sure is purty, though.

5. Doesn't look to be albino to me
There are white peacocks that aren't albinos. This is probably just a picture of one, they aren't that common and most people don't know about them.

9. My mom thinks she's an albino, but she's not.
At least she once claimed she was because she saw something on Oprah. I'm like, "Mom, you have blue eyes & skin pigment. You're NOT an albino." But nnoooooo, Oprah says it so it must be so!

there, now that wasn't off topic at all!:)
