I am no attorney but unless they have a policy for the girls to cut their hair also then this appears to be blatant discrimination.

I knew a kid back in 1969 who's 'rents were suing the school over HIS hair length. It was about the same length as this kid's.

School's defense was that it was "Disruptive to the Educational Process"....

Actually, I don't think anybody even noticed until Principal "Burr" Weddle got a bug up his ass over it.

Why was he called "Burr"? Because "Buzzcut" wasn't dignified enough....

Now, our hair wasn't all that long, this was 1969 after all. But we balked. My mother balked. So when we, my brother and I arrived at school three days later, we were met at the door, told to turn around and the principal drove us to the one barber store in the city and forced us to get a hair cut.....
