College Republican Debate

I had a debate w/ the College Republicans tonight, I owned them. We touched on four issues; affirmative action, USA Patriot Act, death penalty, and the War in Iraq.

I spoke on everything except affirmative action cause I did not know enough about it and chose not to discredit the Democratic plank incase I did not do it justice.

The College Repukes at my school are actually pretty nice though. They gave me a box of donuts at the end, and I got hugged by two of them.

I really spiced things up at this FORMAL debate when I called Bush a "warmongerer" and a "prick." Oh, did I get condemned for that.

It was neat, some goofy-ass kid bitched cause I said prick, so I just shrugged and said "everyone was leaving, it was time for them to come back in and laugh." He still complained that it was inappropriate, which it was, but he didn't need to be such an ass about it.

I did an exceptional job on my speech against the death penalty.

The other interesting part of the night was when the "impartial" moderator laughed at a ridiculous right-wing point. Something REALLY evil, like all Arab-Americans should have to prove that they aren't terrorists now. Other professors there (which all happened to be sitting near me) sighed really loud. I even let out an "asshole" when he said that.

My one teacher said that he was going to remain neutral. I found this really funny cause he's extremely liberal. I found it amusing that he didn't make it past the first Q&A session without going on a liberal rant and asked a tough question.

I'm just a white guy. Usually really white, but I tanned rather well from my stint lifeguarding this summer. Pigment left my skin now, perhaps I'll post a picture in that huge gallery if I ever get the one I want off of my friend. It was taking a few days ago, and its hilarious.

many conservative groups across the nation have been holding bake sales on college campuses. What they do is sell doughnuts to white people for 1 dollar, hispanics for like 75 cents, and blacks and native americans for 50 cents.

It is very racist.

Did your advasaries have their Heritage Foundation text book, complete with scripted responses tuck under their arms?. In a column written by a CR published in the Sea Times, the Heritage Propaganda unit must have been mentioned 100 times. The Times should just drop the spokesclone and publish HF tracks straightaway. It made me sick, giving so much space to an outfit that thinks whats wrong with America could be fixed by abolishing the min wage.

but this one dick did quote it. I bit my lip before I screamed bullshit really loud. My teachers looked pissed too.

The format sucked. Three minutes to argue your point, then 30 seconds to rebut everything said by the opposition.

We got to hear lies like these:

Only two countries in the entire world opposed the war on Iraq.

Every country in the world believed that Saddam had WMDs.

It's "statistically proven" (?!) that the war on Iraq decreased the threat of terrorism.

The USA PATRIOT Act doesn't do anything new. It simply combines many already-existing laws. (One wonders why it would be necessary to create the law in the first place.)

It costs more to incarcerate someone for life than to pursue an execution.

13,000 people per year are killed by paroled murderers (funny, since less than 1 percent of all murderers murder again after being released from prison).

But it gets better. When arguing against affirmative action, one kid asked who in the room considered him or herself a racist. Of course no one raised his or her hand. This was supposed to prove that racism is a thing of the past. It boggled my mind.
