Would someone critique my blog?

I just started up on my own blog, and I am quite clueless as to etiquette, style issues, etc. (I do write professionally, although not on politics.)

Would someone fluent in this medium have a look and offer up a fair appraisal?

(Is this a hopelessly vain request???I hope not...)

However, i still do not think they touch on the central question. Why did Bush go to war if Iraq wasn't an imminent threat? And even if it was a gathering threat, what credible evidence did they have? The Niger-Nuclear Tubes story was clearly found not credible before the war.
Bascially, it leaves out some central questions.

4. Thanks for the input

I found out that my blogspot doesn't support comments, but I can add some code that will link to a third party. I'll experiment.

My html skills are quite rusty (I did most of my homepage in MSW/FP, which is drag 'n drop) , so I'll have to experiment a bit wth the Comments code. I'll look into pictures as well - we've got some nice ones from all our rafting trips.

Thanks for the link - this item was prompted by some conservo knuckle-walker stumbling into the 'imminent threat' meme (about a month late) and my response.

3. From a style point of view

It seems that the text it too long, and not divided up. DailyKos has long blocks of text, but they have it run down the middle of the page, so it doens't feel so "long."

Some blog systems let you post an intro section which the reader can skim, and then click to read the rest.

I'd try having the text in the middle, and something like links or menus on the left and/or right.

and your request seems pretty reasonable to me.
speaking of which, how does look?

beyond that:

shorter is better

and the paragraph begining "Jonah ..." lost me for i don't get the phrases "may derive some clandestine jollies from relieving GWB from this burden" nor "some PNAC experimentation through rhetorical legerdemain"

but i liked the argument in the beginning.

...my wife says I'm too long-winded. She's probably right.

As I said, I've been a professional columnist for 20+ years, but on a different subject...not politics. I need to find a good cadence.

(you hadn't discussed in the above post you're professional history) but, yeah i wondered as i read it...the structure is pretty professional...truly, some of the blogging conventions aren't worth adopting...short, sweet, and functional should be the convention...well if you ask my lurking ass that is ...
