Anybody out there remember the band Root Boy Slim and the Sex Change Band?
I was going through my collection of old LPs and came across this one. I put it on the turntable and forgot how much it rocked.

I remember it as being pretty idiotic at the time, but maybe I'd warm up to it through the haze of nostalgia.

5. Hell yeah....they were great!
They were all the rage in DC for awhile during the late seventies. Great songs: "Too sick to reggae", You broke my mood ring", "I'm not too old for you.

The backup singers ("The Rootettes") were great too!

I saw many rockin' Root Boy shows.

They went to LA to hit the big time, did a show at the Roxy, all the record companies were there, but, alas, when they saw the show they didn't understand what all the fuss was about.
