My little dog got "five paws" on Dogster!
I know that this is kind of silly, but I've been suffering from pretty bad insomnia lately, and just couldn't wrap my head around politics, so this was what I was up to, LOL! I did it on a whim, but it's been kind of fun. Unlike in real life, my little guy has been invited to become doggie "pals" with all manner of other dogs and I did get a kick out of the fact that they liked him so much there. Everybody at my vet's office was all excited about it when he had an appointment yesterday, since I'd sent the link to my vet, so I thought I'd share it here. It's the best thing I've had going for me all week.:-)

4. Thanks. He is pretty special. :-)
He's such a rare little thing, a huge hit at his vet's, or wherever he goes, come to think of it. Perfect strangers stop me to ask me about him, since he's so unusual. He's quite the conversation piece, LOL! I always think it's pretty amazing for a little dog who nobody wanted.

6. He's a Brussels Griffon, a pretty rare breed. They call them "velcro dogs"
Because they are pretty much one-person dogs. And I've looked at others on this site and the top "pet peeve" that these guys seem to have is "being left alone." He became homeless when his owner, an elderly lady, died and he lost her and his biological sister in short order, since she was placed separately. Poor little guy must have been so lost and he broke my heart. He bonded with my cocker, Sheena, immediately, and with me. He must have always been taken everywhere, since he expects to be, but he's so good that I can get away with it. Thanks! He's my baby.:-)

10. Thanks!!! I always thought they were pretty neat, as well.
But I never dreamed I'd have one. I called about a cocker spaniel that was up for adoption, and ended up with my little pis. He's not exactly "fun," LOL! But mainly because his eyesight isn't the best, so he's rather skittish. Nor is he particularly affectionate, for the same reason. Though this isn't typical of the breed. But just let me try and leave the room and all hell breaks loose! If he can't be with me, he's not a happy dog. At the moment, he's snoring behind me in my chair. I'd left him sleeping on my bed, but he woke up and noticed that he was alone and his panicked yips sent me running, LOL!:D

8. Two black dogs! Excellent
I work for a rescue, and black dogs and cats are euthanized more than any other group (still don't know why-maybe people are just worried about the hair on their clothes?) Bless you for taking in TWO of them!

9. I didn't know that!
 It just happened by accident that they're both black. I would NEVER discriminate against fur color! And who cares about the hair? That's what those little tape roller things are for.

11. I know. I just was told that not-so-fun fact
I adopted out a black cat last month, and he was the sweetest little guy. Little did I know how lucky I was to have found a home for him. When the house is a little emptier, I'll be adopting one myself!

13. Really?! I had no idea!!!
Two out of my three cats have been black. I first noticed my cat who I rescued myself because she was black, since she reminded me of my beloved kitty who I lost far too soon.;(

As for my dogs, they have all been pretty light. I grew up with a blonde cocker and I guess that I've been looking for her, ever since. But, as far as clothes are concerned, I am constantly covered with light hairs. I've often wished that they were black!:D

The real Rhiannon:

Catlin, who I rescued, myself:

12. What lovely, lovely dogs! And yours are rescue, as well.
And your guys have made even more friends than mine! I'm really enjoying that site, even though I just did it on a whim. I have to add my other dog, Sara, but, at the moment, I only have once pic of her that I can post and it's not the best. I'll let you know when and if I manage it. And thanks, I think he's pretty special...

15. He is cute!
And it helped when I posted Molly's page. Puppies get lots of responses on dogster.

16. Thanks. I think so, and, apparently, so does the general public. LOL!
But most people, outside of Dogster, just assume that he's a puppy, because of his size. But he was nine-years-old when I first adopted him. Sara was eight. Barney was at least ten. Rhiannon was five and Catlin was twelve. I adopt senior animals. It's heartbreaking, since I know I'm not going to have them for ten or fifteen years, but somebody's got to do it, and they're the ones who need me. My Barney, who I adopted at age ten or eleven, got me started. After I lost him, after eight short years, and I was devastated, my neighbor suggested to me that, if I ever got another dog, I should adopt a puppy. But I told her that everybody wants a puppy. But who would want an eight-year-old dog with seizures? I've adopted two, and never regretted it, though I didn't find this out until I'd already adopted them. When I found out about Sam, the wonderful lady in rescue who'd placed her with me offered to take her back. But she was already my dog and I loved her. And when I found out about Sheena, the very first night I had her, I couldn't believe it, but, at least, I had experience with this and knew what to do.

Here's my Barney, the dog of my heart, who got me started with senior animals. I'm thinking of putting him on Dogster, too, since they have a special place there for the dogs you'll never forget.;(

14. I have seen your cat before and he's definitely a five-paw beauty!
My former boss had a Maine Coon cat and he was just the nicest cat! She brought him in for me to see, because she knew I was interested, and she just left him with me. He came out of his carrier and I just picked him up and carried him around. He didn't seem to mind a bit, though he'd never seen me before. And he was also a pretty stunning boy, a former show cat. And Meneken would be honored to be his friend! Thanks! He isn't prejudiced towards cats or dogs; he barks at them both, LOL!:D
