Okey doke then.

Can I hone my linguistic skills and proceed to sound like a (European) and start summarily insulting Americans on the street?

3. A non-US country.

But given my pasty white complexion, there could be but one country that isn't Canada... :D

2. Someone asked me last week if I came from the West Coast .
And its funny for me because I am a North Carolina girl . He told me it was my vernacular and my character . Or maybe it was the time I spent in Europe that made me calmer , I have no clue .

4. If you're British
than you can use such fun and colorful phrases as "cock up" and "sod off."

I'd go for being British.

5. I get the same question
I was born and raised in SC and my family has been here since colonial times, but I have also lived in Germany. When I tell others that I was born and raised in SC they respond, "You don't sound like it." How should we sound? Stereotypes stink!

7. Make up a country.
Make it some outlandish place. See if the person knows their geography or not.

Slapbackystan or something. :)
