My cat's war on literacy
I have often mentioned here stories of my cat preventing me from reading. She seems to have a real problem with me reading books, and as soon as I pick one up, she is right there trying to stop me.

Last night I tried an expierement. I started reading Stalin: Breaker of Nations and waited for the cat to arrive. As she jumped on my bed, I closed the book and lay it near my leg. My cat instantly lay down next to it, with her paws resting on the book---in order to keep me from picking it up and continuing. I then slid the book out and put it up by my head. The cat got up and then sat on the book. I took it from under her, and put it on my other side. The cat instantly followed it and again sprawled herself over the book. I took the book out and tried to start reading---my cat then tried to head butt the book out of my hands. When that failed she decided to lay across my neck.

3. Well what are you thinking trying to read instead of adoring her?
My cats chew on the corners of the books while I'm trying to read.

So much for their resale value on amazon.

4. I tried reading Winnie the Pooh to my cat once...
She slapped me upside the head. She didn't like it.

She loves pens -- when I'm trying to take notes or write, she'll grab the pen. Sometimes she fights me for it. Sigh. I love her so much she can get away with anything. Here's my baby:
