Mel Gibson is in a deal with Disney for his next movie
to be filmed in a Mayan dialect.. I am NOT kidding.. It was just on the crawl of CNN..

"Apocalypto will be set 500 years in the past in Central America with characters speaking an obscure Mayan dialect.

Gibson will fund the movie, just as he did for The Passion - which took $370m (£212m) at the US box office.

Filming is due to begin in October for the film's planned release next summer, to be distributed by Disney in the US.


Gibson will not appear in Apocalypto, a title taken from the Greek word for an unveiling or new beginning, and the film's plot has been kept secret. "

unless it's really, insanely good. It sounds interesting, and I applaud that a director would choose to focus on a slice of history that often gets glossed over (i.e. Latin American). Unfortunately, I don't trust Mel's objectivity anymore.
