Speaking of bird flipping

I like the movie 8 Mile. First watched it on one of the premium cable channel, don't remember whether it was HBO or Showtime..

And it appeared that the Eminem and Brittany Murphy characters were flipping at each other as a sign of affection. And I was wondering whether this is how young people communicate these days..

But now the movie is on VH1 and, I swear, they removed the finger so it looks as if they are waving their fists at each other..

Anyone seen it?
