Why 3?? Why not 2 or 4? Anyone know?
I was watching a show just now where two people were tossing something and they did it on '3' (1..2..3..toss).

How did we get to 3 being the number we did things on so often?

Ok, back to tv and beer and will check back in a bit :)

1. It's a magic number.
How many things that talked lived in the garden of eden?

How many people do you need for a love triangle?

How many roads must a man walk down?

2. 3 and 7 are recurrent numbers in the Bible.
A lot of it comes from that. Or so I've been told.

3. Because you need a count of at least 3 to establish a beat
1 and 2 establish the interval for you to anticipate the timing for 3.

4. Because thou shalt count to three. No more, no less.
Though shall not count to 4, nor shall thou count to 2 unless thou continues immediately to three. 5, is right out.

6. no more, no less
As quoted from thy holy "Book of Armaments" (Chapter 2, verses 9-21), as follows:

"And the LORD spake, saying, first shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then, shalt thou count to three. No more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither thou count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it."
