Fave movie badguys?

Didn't wanna kill him but Dennis Hopper as Frank Booth in Blue velvet is my favorite "Villian"

Blue Velvet is creepy as shit....The character of Frank was to breathe helium at various intervals in Lynch's original script, but Dennis Hopper suggested this be changed to Amyl Nitrate which he knew was used to enhance sexual experiences.

Dorothy: What do you want to do?
Jeffrey: I'll do anything.
Dorothy: Are you a bad boy?
Jeffrey: What do you mean?
Dorothy (dreamily): Do you want to do bad things? Anything? Anything?
Jeffrey (whispering): What do you want?
Dorothy (begging): I want you to hurt me.

He's more of an anti-hero than a villain in that movie than a villain, but still.

Oh, and "Bram Stoker's Dracula" sucked. Oldman was the only thing passable, and the only thing that Stoker lent was his name.

Seriously.

An attractive, likeable villain with a clear motivation, which is of course a refreshing change from the usual 2D bad guy. That he was sexy was a nice bonus. :)

Even at the movie's horrifying ending (if you haven't seen it I won't give it away) he's still in many ways a more likable charachter than Officer Howie, the movie's protagonist.

Howie was a prude and a prig. Though he got a bit better by the end.

(Almost gave it away there, but deleted in time.)

I saw Summerisle as something of a charlatan (as suggested in the first conversation he had with Howie regarding the former's lineage); Howie, for all his austerity, was genuinely concerned for the missing girl.

How wonderful it would be if the harvest didn't return the next year...

Sad, but rue. I barely remember the original, honsetly, but remember loving it. Perhaps that'll be mu next NexFlix order.

Yes, I think in this version, Nicholas Cage rescues Jennifer Aniston from the Wicker Man at the last possible moment by crashing a stolen Lamborghini through it.

He's so creepy because he's so completely normal in every way, except he likes to kill people.

...anyone can commit murder with impunity. That's what this movie documents. A sociopath who for an insane reason he's in his head concocted, plans and executes the perfect crime. Film is very well done...

He rescues the little girl who is drowning, and is apparently a kind and loving father/husband.

The fact that he was given a multidimentional character is so brilliant and uncommon. Every other "villain" in the movies seems to have his switch stuck on "evil". They're one step away from Snidley Whiplash"

It's completely unique and devoid of cliches... he's so odd it seems like he just has to be a real person.

...you'll see the performance was spot-on.

People with that type of personality are some of the scariest people you'll ever meet in your life.

in Urban Cowboy. He was a bronc-riding ex-convict.

Two words: two trucks.

Robinson is often associated with the tough-guy roles he played, but his career had greater breadth than that. He also played straight arrows, nerds, good-hearted farmers, and the like during his career.

But in Key Largo, his character, a gangster, is the definition of odious. I won't catalogue his sins here -- it's better that you see the movie -- but among the milder ones is sexual harassment of a young widow.

No matter how gentle of spirit you are, you will crave an appropriate comeuppance for this particular gangster.

He creeped me out like no other movie character before or since...



I loved Ebert's description of his character: "Now here is true evil: Cold, unblinking, reptilian. The character Chad in "In the Company of Men" makes the terrorists of the summer thrillers look like boys throwing mud-pies..."
