Tomorrow. My computer is being taken down tonight...I'm leaving the neighborhood Ive lived in for 3+ years. Im really sad, but my damn landlord wanted to raise my rent $400 bucks :grr: and I cannot afford that at all.

I just wanted to say adios...i don't know when I'm getting an internet connection. The previous tenants never disconnected their Time Warner service so I have to go through a huge hassle to get my cable hooked up and who knows how long it will take.

Just wanted to bid you all a proper farewell :hi:

and PS...ill still be able to go online from work though :P

Im moving to the....i never thought I would ever say this, UPTOWN, lincoln center area...ive spent the past 5 years below 14th st. what a chage it will be

And really and truly, even though I prefer my neighborhood, the West 60s is not a terrible place to be in. You might not be close to the Sunshine and Angelika theaters anymore, but now you've got the Lincoln Plaza art house cinema which is almost as good, and it's pretty awesome to be right next to Lincoln Center with all the stuff they've got going on over there.

Anyway, good luck with the move!

Its a trade-off, but the area is pretty cool. I think once i get settled, it'll be cool to find all new places to eat and hang and stuff. Things do get repetitive a bit, so it'll be nice to change it up.

I'm going through the same thing right now.

My landlord of 2+ years just sold the building. The new landlords are raising the rent $500 if I want to stay in my decrepit Brooklyn neighborhood. Just found out this week.

I only have a month to find a new place.

I feel for you!

23. We only got a one month warning as well
even though the building was bought, its just cause our landlord is a money-hungry old slum lord.

We were looking all over downtown manhattan and couldn't find a real two bedroom in our price range (only "two-room" apartments, so really a Convertible 2 Bedroom. :grr: I wish you better luck :7

when is this housing bubble bursting again :silly:
