To all my dear friends here on DU, in the Lounge!

I am simply overwhelmed at the outpouring of love and respect in progmom's thread to me...And I want all of you to know how much this means to me...

I came to DU, yes, this year, in February..after suffering the loss of the election. And you guys took me in, and made me discover the joys of online virtual friendship...Out of these six months that I've been here, I have so many terrific memories, and some "real" new friends!

I have been so happy here...and I'm glad that I have been able to make a positive difference in so many people's lives. You know what I always say, and it's true: I'm just trying to live up to my sig line; I try every day to do just that...It's pretty easy here, but in real life, I'm not as much the angel you all see! (If you see!)

Anyhow...thank you all again so very much...I truly do love all of you, and you give me hope for the future of our beleagured country...

but you know that...I am honored to call you friend!

I love you as well....and I am likewise honored to call you friend! I'm not functioning at a very high level right now...too emotional! But I wanted everyone to know how I feel...

This place is truly a refuge..without it, I suspect that a lot of us would be realllllly depressed..

The only bad thing about this place is that we have lost 3 dear friends..and all so suddenly:cry:..

But to not have known them would have been a loss too:(

I would not be able to function nearly as well as I do without my Lounge friends! Depressed is it........

For our three beloved departed friends: true it is that it's better to have loved and lost, than to never have loved at all...I know that this bit of poetry normally refers to romantic love...but it applies here as well...
