To All Cat Lovers -- Need Help With 2 Homeless Kittens

Someone dumped 2 kittens (I think they are 6 weeks or even younger) on my street today. I am not a cat lover, but these poor little animals were sitting in the middle of the street. I was terrified that they would get run over. Plus the weather here is turning cold. So since I am a sap for baby animals, I took them in. I have them in a large dog crate at this time. But I have a Rottweiler who is viewing them as a snack. I can't keep these poor babies for long and hate to have to take them to the pound. Is there anyone in the Atlanta, Ga. area who would be interested in these kittens? Or even out of state, cause I could possibly try to arrange transport through rescue groups. I have contacted all the animal rescue groups that I belong to and have not heard from anyone yet. They are adorable. One is a calico and the other a dusky gray,

and all other states at the petfinder site. What I meant was that you might try contacting one of them if you didn't already try all of them.

...call the Animal Humae Association. They have programs and volunteers who foster unweaned kittens until they're old enough for adoption. If you need to hold onto them until Monday, they can give you feeding instructions.

Chances are the pound will just euthanize them on sight. If you want these poor beasties to have a chance, call the AHA.

She refuses to let us put her to sleep and I think and hope that she will die tonight.

I know that sounds bad but Ramona is almost 18 years old and she has thyroid problems that they can't do anything more with.

We love her but she is not mine so I can't get her put to sleep.

Are they long hair of short hair? Do you know if they are girls or boys?

I don't know if they are long-haired or short-haired since they are so young. Same goes for the sex. It's difficult to determine the sex of kittens when they are under six weeks, which I think these are.

They are too young to be without their Mom.

who place animals.. Most vets have at least a few people like that.. (I am on of them, but am up to my ears in cats :):)..)

Can you isolate them in a spare bathroom?? A tall box with a towel covered heating pad on low inside a bathtub is a good place to keep them..

They sound cute, you should have no problem placing them.. :) You could also put up flyers at the grocery store with your phone number :)

I'll check with my dog's vet on Monday. Right now they are safe. I have them in a huge dog crate with lots of food and water and a pan with dirt I dug from outside for a litter box. With luck they will use it until I can get to the store tomorrow to pick up some cat litter. I took them outside in hopes that they would do something, but they just followed me back into the house.

I have a sneaking suspicion you've just adopted two kittens. <g>

Someone tossed some cat's out of their car window and we lived on a main street. The piece of shit stopped and backed up on them and he killed the other ones that he tossed out.
When Dinky adopted us her hair had been singed off. Her skin was alright but someone had taken something and removed her hair.

We tried to find her a place to live but no one wanted her and she grew on us and we loved her.

Ramona is her daughter and Ramona is the last one of her little Cat family and she is going to die tonight I hope. She is very sick.

Seal off one room from the dog and let the kittens roam in there while you have them. It's more humane for them than leaving them in a box. You may have to give them a litter box too. Any cardboard box will do (that they can climb into ....... you may need to cut a lot of height off of it), and you can get cheap litter from a supermarket for a few dollars. A small bag of cat food is cheap too.

They are in a huge dog crate. One that is suitable for a large dog like my Rottweiler. I put a pan in there right now with some earth that I dug up outside. That will just have to do until I can get to PetsMart tomorrow. And luckily my next door neighbor who has a cat gave me some cat food. And I also had some leftover salmon, which they, of course, scarfed up.

I'm a sucker for baby animals too, but I have 2 dogs that are not very fond of cats. I'll ask around.

we have several cats and 5 acres of land out in the country..most of ours are strays we found too...the dogs are all used to cats and know better than to mess with them...if you can get them here Ill take em.
