just got confirmation this morning. We've been trying for 4-5 months. FINALLY I can get some rest!!! :)

Get all the rest you can before the baby is born! I guarantee plenty of sleepless nights for the first five years of your baby's life...

Your house is too clean .

The childproofing starts with everywhere a foot tall.
you move everytrhing up or lock it down .

you have until your child is 2 before he/she can reach
the door knob . So the way I did it was just to keep moving
things up . Now everything is up on the top shelves around
the house . :shrug:

in ALL the electical outlets. Sure, they're a pain, but hearing a kid scream 'cause they put they're finger in there is terrible!!:scared:

I think one of the best things to come out of the past two generations is that both parents take part in the entire pregnancy, delivery and raising of the child. Nonetheless (and this is only a teensy, weensie pet peeve that I hope you will allow me), only she can be pregnant, but you are BOTH expecting.

and since we're going to have to leave our diet, it looks like I'll be gaining "sympathy weight" with her... ;-)

I think she bases her "we" phraseology upon the fact that she pretty much owns my butt, notwithstanding the 13th Amendment. I'm basically an unincorporated subsidiary of hers. That, coupled with the fact that we're poor Southern mountain-folks, makes the "we're pregnant" gramatically correct, at least hereabouts.

As for the delivery, I'll be there, on orders from my wife. She told me this morning that she's not allowed to pass out during delivery, so she wants me there to pass out for her.

I think I'm going to go puke now. I'm not ill, it's sympathetic morning sickness!!! ;-)

As a dad of two young boys, I can say with some affirmation -you two are getting ready to take the ride of your life. I may piss off a few of the affirmed 'no kids for me' folk, but, IMHO, children are the coolest things on earth.

NOTHING like feeling the burst of pride when your child hits new milestones. First time rolling over, first time sleeping through the night, first steps, first words, first time riding a bike,.... Man, I could just go on and on....

To this day, my eyes still water when one of my boys will do something that is completely unrehearsed and unselfish as only kids can be - like going up to comfort another child who is hurt, or offering another child a corner of his favorite blanket when he or she is sad. And it is WAY cool when they crawl up on your lap to watch cartoons with you, or read a book, or just to be with you.

Congratulations and best wishes... You are about to experience one of the best things on the planet.
