Help techies:
My computer is at the repair shop. So I dug up the old laptop to keep in touch, but I can't read half of what's on the board because the sentences get garbled like if they were in water and someone swished their finger over parts of the sentences. If I copy posts to notepad, then I get the ungarbled clear version, But this is a drag. Is there maybe a simple fix that I don't know about?

I am using a Compaq presario 1250 with Windows 98. I have tried everything in the control panel to try to fix the display to no avail. If there is no fix, so be it, but if it can be something simple, please post. I don't know how many days my computer is going to be gone.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Clieta

1. Wild guess
try a different browser. Sounds like something's getting corrupted.

Another wild guess, make sure your International settings are on US English, not something wierd.

2. Thanks.
The language was okay and another browser doesn't work. I guess i'm going to have to stay off line until my other computer is fixed.

3. go into advanced display settings
maybe setting the display adapter's acceleration will help. i know laptops are difficult, especially the older ones, because you can't really adjust the resolution at all.

you could also change the font size to a larger version..
