And if you don't like puppies, I took a picture of the stealth bomber:
Actually, this would be a good joke to just show nothing. :D

But seriously, lookit:

...No tripod, just "Jesus, it's a freakin' B-2!" and I had a telephoto. Of course, I was at an air show, but this wasn't anticipated.

Interesting note, there's little "noise dots" of light in the fuselage ... it's the same effect I sometimes get when I take pictures and it's really dark.

How black is the B-2 Spirit? Pretty f-ing black, I'd say. :P

2. Thanks. Apparently
...it was returning from an actual mission and trying to hit as many air shows as it could before running out of fuel. :) One pass over us, and he was gone.

6. Where were you at?
Just wondering if that was why they were flying so low yesterday afternoon and last night. They were really loud over my house. I'm hoping it was just for an air show drill.

18. Exactly.
I live about 10 miles from WAFB and they've been doing night flights like crazy lately. I was hoping that it was just for air shows but now I'm not so sure.

17. It could be none blacker...

I have to confess that I love air shows--even though I know they're basically just attempts to recruit people, and even though I know that stealths, fighter jets, etc. are in a lot of ways a monumental waste of money that could be spent on much more important things--they're just so cool, I can't help it. I grew up going to the air show at Dobbins AFB in Atlanta, and I've always loved the sight and sound of an F-18 tearing through the sky.

Edited, because I forgot to say very cool pic

21. Oooh....Ahhh
Wow, did you take these pics, too? You're a very talented photogropher!

I've seen the Blue Angels twice, though one of those times it was really overcast and they didn't get to do many cool tricks. I've also seen the Thunderbirds once. Both provide a really incredible experience. It's good to find someone else on DU who shares the same "guilty pleasure" as me. :hi:

20. Which air show?
I saw the B-2 fly on 1-1-02 at the Rose Parade...Yes, it is a show of military might, but that plane is an awesome piece of engineering.
