My Best Friend "Sliver" Passed Away Today

She was a huge Packer fan. I've known here my whole life. She was 47. She was living with and taking care of her elderly, frail father. She was very large, and had lost about 150 pounds in the last three years. She always said when she went, she wanted her ashes in Lambeau Field. I know I can't do that, but I know her heart is there, and she is there in spirit. She told me that if she lost another 80 pounds by next year, she'd come to a game with me. She did have a chance to go to a game several years back, and oh, what a story that was! She had owned a tavern here in my little town, and sold it a few years back, so there are many stories to tell. Sorry to always have bad news lately. Just had to get it off my chest. You are all wonderful people, and I consider you my friends.

P.S. Hubby finds out about his heart tomorrow. The MRI showed that he had a slight tear in his shoulder.

First day of school is tomorrow too.

I hope she didn't suffer and went painlessly.... :hug: to you.

I lost a good friend recently. The thought of not having them in your life anymore is pretty unbearable.

Is she the one you went to Training Camp with last spring?

Sliver was about 600 pounds, after losing about 150 in the last three years. I might make a website in her honor. Once I start to heal (she'd want that), there are many wonderful stories to tell. She was a "colorful" person with a big heart, and she was a strong Dem.
