3. gas was expensive last year
it is somewhat more expensive now.

beer costs more per gallon.

i'll panic when it approaches $10.

between 2.35 and 5.00 - it was written on the wall 5 years ago.

9. Now I know what you mean, I guess my mind isn't working tonight...
I found the gas affordable last year and so far I can afford it now but I too would panic at $10.00 per gallon. I don't think it will happen.

11. If that happens many drivers in this country will not be able to afford..
it. I would have to spend approimately $100.00 to fill my car to get to work and back each week. I have no other way to get to my office. Four hundred dollars a month on just gas would be the end for me.

12. It's twice as expensive as it was a year ago.
And that means the prices of all consumer goods will rise. Grocery prices are already significantly higher.

Besides, I don't fill my gas tank with beer, so its price per gallon compared to gas doesn't much matter to me.

5. more affordable than it is now
people are aware how f***ed the prices are since bush inc took over but this situation is different - they see a national disaster on TV with no real leadership and it leads them to do desperate things like crowd gas stations, hoard gas

6. but like the crackhead needs a hit
so the car drivers need the fuel.

8. oh I agree with that

7. I have a lifelong friend who is a "survivalist"- he will call.
He is going to call me this weekend to pontificate about peak oil and the coming collapse. Is 20 bucks a week going to cause an economic collapse? I doubt it.
