I am calling all of my senators and congresspeople.
If a special session of congress can be convened to deal with one woman and her feeding tube in Florida, we sure as fuck need someone with leadership skills to step forward and lead when tens of thousands are dying because of neglect.

1. That's a good idea, progmom. I'll do the same this afternoon.
God knows, those folks down in LA and Mississippi sure as fuck isn't going to get anything from the asshole in the White House.

It feels like there's no one in charge...no coordination. It certainly doesn't feel like we have a capable government. x(

11. I cribbed what you said
and faxed the following letter to my senators and congressman:

**************************************************************

I have been getting angrier and angrier about the response to Hurricane Katrina. It was forecasted to gain considerable strength in the Gulf because of the unusually warm water. The projected path included New Orleans, Gulfport and Biloxi. It is well understood that New Orleans was at particular risk because it is below sea level and surrounded by water.

The National Guard was established just for these sorts of circumstances. Why in the world are they in Iraq when we so desperately need them here? Even their amphibious vehicles are in Iraq.

If a special session of congress can be convened to deal with a woman and her feeding tube in Florida, why wasn’t a special session called immediately in response to this clear danger?

We certainly need someone with leadership skills to come forward and lead when thousands of Americans are dying because of neglect. Needed funding was cut that would have been used to fortify levees around New Orleans. That funding needs to be restored. They could certainly use the $9 billion dollars that went missing and is unaccounted for in Iraq.

Sincerely,
Your constituent,

If I keep calling, they are going to think I'm a fruit loop.

Sigh.

I'm so mad, maybe I am.
