FReeper: Liberals do not appreciate Wal-Mart generosity
:eyes:

To: jasoncann
Walmart was one of the first to pledge $1million. The liberals hate Walmart and yet they have donated money, and opened many of their stores in the area giving away food, water and clothing. Yet, no word of thanks from the Howard Dean crowd.

The 5 heirs to the Wal-Mart fortune are worth more than 100 Billions dollars total (more $$$ than the ENTIRE population of Egypt)
Wal-Mart is the richest company in the US. Their one million dollar gift was the equivalent of me giving a $1 bill to a homeless guy on the street

6. Actually, that's not true. The car companies are loosing $$, WM
is NOT! It really is a bigger gift from the car companies since they have been reporting LOSSES. WM has been reporting large profits for years!

4. Fine, I'll say thank you to Wal-Mart
but that does not excuse years of their Gilded Age style labor practices. In the end, this small gift from Wal-Mart is in very small proportion to the damage they have done to millions of people.

So I'll only say this token thank you once and then move on.

7. Thanks, Wal-Mart...
now all you need to do is pay your employees, stop buying from sweatshops, stop trying to pass off anti-semitic books as non-fiction, stop giving money to every conservative in sight, and fire all of your executives. Oh, and close every single super-wal-mart.

11. They also give lotsa moolah to NPR....
...which is another reason to hate them, as NPR has slid to the center-right over the last few years (I'm sure it's a coincidence. :eyes:)

9. The Walton family is one of the richest families in the world.
They regularly show up in the top 5 of Fortune 500's World's 100 Richest People. The Waltons are worth, like you said, 100 billion.

To give just $1 million is like pocket change to us. It's a fucking insult and those freepers know it.

13. I watched the ABC special last night at 10PM
in one part there were people in line outside of a Walmart and a Walmart employee came out and was saying that they had no ice, water, nothing perishable left.

I sat and stared at the TV...Did they really get employees to leave their family and come in to run cash registers??? Seriousl did they? I don't know the answer but it appeared that they did.
