I'm sorry if I'm being an insensitive ass. I feel bad for his family, even though this must have been expected.

On the other hand, I feel more sorry about the potential replacements than about his death. Rehnquist was not a friend to Americans.

Why couldn't he have lived at least another year? We might have a new Senate by then. Why do I feel like now John Roberts will be confirmed 95-5? A filibuster is certainly out of the question. When I read about his death at one o'clock this morning it hit me like an 18 pound sledge. Say it is not so.
