When I was a kid, I use to get these weird pains in my legs....

always seem to come around Labor day....

So I would get myself all worked up, you know, I'm dying, I'm dying...

It was weird how it coincided with the Jerry Lewis telethon...

Or maybe going back to school...

So, I get it in my head that I have MD... Early stages.... And that if they don't find a cure real quick.... Well, it's curtains....

So every Labor Day when I was a kid, I wanted to put on one of those MD Carnivals... But my folks were divorced and my dad was an Alky... No help there... So I did the next best thing... I would call up the Telethon pledge five or six bucks, hey, I was in fifth grade and it was 1968...

Then I would challenge all the other kids from Franklin Elementary or later, Parkside Junior High, to match my pledge...

Well, I would invariably get the cure, soon after school started and I was over my angst....

Did I send the Pledge..... Most of the time... But there were a few times......

Did my friends match the pledge.... Well, everyone else had a fucking carnival..... And got to be on the fucking local show....

Inventive even then...

maybe that fatalistic outlook explains why I lived my early years with such reckless abandon......

Why not take risks when you think you won't be around anyway?

my 8yo gets these sometimes. The weird pain they can't explain? I'll have to watch and make sure she doesn't think she's dying lol.

That's interesting.

Until I discovered Pot....

Instantly, a cool kid....

I even survived hurling in eighth grade Social Studies on the hottest day of the year....

however ... I know there is nothing seriously wrong ...

perhaps ... that is why I try to help others feel better too ...

How about we throw you a carnival, now? We could even display your poor twisted body on TV and ask for donations :)
