Remembering Labor Day weekend, '73
That was my first visit to New Orleans, and I immediately fell in love with that magical, exotic, romantic city. Ah yes, I remember that weekend well.

2. okay
Went with my boyfriend. Especially memorable was everything about the French Quarter, including a romantic candlelight dinner at the Court of Two Sisters. Boyfriend had a Playboy Club membership, so we went there (I wasn't especially impressed :)) Rode the St. Charles street car and saw the Garden District, went to Lake Ponchartrain. I regretted that we didn't have time for a riverboat ride, as much of our time there was spent walking around the Quarter.

When Monday arrived, we took an earlier flight out than planned. Hurricane Dawn seemed to be headed that way, and this mountain gal accustomed to the shelter of the Appalachians got scared and said "Let's leave a bit earlier than planned".

In 1991 I got the opportunity to return to New Orleans on a business trip. Took a couple of extra days to enjoy the city, and although I loved being there again, it wasn't quite the same as being there with a significant other.

3. Cool
I've only been to New Orleans once. And I guess you could say that I was there on business. I was in an 18 wheeler. Didn't get to see the sights.
