Lazy September Morning: My break from reality
Edited on Sun Sep-04-05 01:50 PM by SkipNewarkDE
There's a disaster in New Orleans. Gas prices are through the roof. War in Iraq. Every time I turn on the tv or radio, or get onto the web, I feel like I am going to scream. I needed to get away from it all for a morning. And I did. I went out to the farm. The weather was sunny, cool, with no humidity. It was peaceful and clear. As soon as I got there, I looked up in the field, and saw my big grey horse Regal Bull just laying there taking it easy. I looked at him and realized what they mean by "horse sense," and took that wise creature's example, and plopped down in the grass with him. We just lay there for an hour without thinking about anything other than what a beautiful day it was. I got up with a clearer head and a soothed soul.
