Nothing kills stress like dumping a load of bombs on a Nazi factory!

My handle was "Etflak". I haven't played online in at least three years though.

Play BF1942 because it's free.

3. BF1942 is a WW2 FPS that allows players to..

drive tanks-jeeps-trucks, fly planes, and captain ships even aircraft carriers. It does not use the badass flight physics model of Warbirds but it is a lot of fun. There are also literally hundreds of mods on the net including Galactic Conquest (A Star Wars mod), BF1918 (A WW1 mod), Desert Combat (A current events mod), Eve of Destruction (A Vietnam Mod) and a host of others from Stargate to Interstate 1979... Plus there are two official expansion packs Road to Rome about the invasion of Sicilly and Secret Weapons where all the experimental weapons of WW2 are available to use.

You can play as one of five classes, scout (sniper), infantryman, anti-tank (you have a bazooka), medic, or combat engineer and play on maps are that modeled on famous WW2 battles, El Alamein, Omaha Beach, Iwo Jima, etc...

while the vehicles lack all of the detail that makes Warbirds so realistic, they are fun and relatively easy to drive/fly so it makes for more dogfighting and less avoiding fatal spins. The Desert Combat mods also introduce choppers with the SA-5, Apache, and Blackhawk on the coalition side, and the Hind, Shulka, and a big Russian transport on the Iraqi side.

Online play is free and there are dozens of servers in each variant of the game allowing up to 64 people to play at one time on one map.
