8. Yikes. Sorry, everyone. I was pondering one of life's great questions:
"What on earth possessed my mother to dress me in clown shorts when I was seven years old?"

There is nothing wrong with those shorts.

Now, I have three pictures of you.

PS: I'm not a pervert. ;)

12. Ha! If you only have three . . .
then you've missed a couple and do not have the complete, unabridged collection of "Heidi Photos Posted on DU." They'll be collectors' items, I tell ya.

:loveya: Floog.

11. Funny story.
Hi, Peggy . . . ( :loveya: ) That photo was taken in the magical summer of 1970, when my dad was stationed in Kentucky with the Army. I had just been adopted by my parents the year before, and my mom was very concerned about parenting issues, like which clown shorts to choose for me, and keeping me free of worms and stuff. Anyway, in Kentucky, there was no housing left on base for military families, so we had to live in a run-down trailer, which was home to a nest of feral kittens and had an open septic tank about 100 yards behind the trailer. I was forbidden to touch the kittens ("They might have worms!") or go anywhere near the open septic tank ("It's chockful of bacteria! Don't even BREATHE near it.")

Anyway, every time my mom's back was turned, I was playing with those feral kittens. This photo represents the one time I was caught. Immediately after Mom snapped the photo, she said, "Now go wash your hands! Did you kiss it? Brush your teeth, too!"

18. Omigod, Heidi...what a great story!
I didn't know you were adopted...Like it matters!

I can well imagine that your mom had parenting issues...were you her first child? She was no doubt working as hard as she could to bring you up right...

Looks like she did all right...clown shorts and all...to my eyes, anyhow...

Blessings on her...and on you, gf.... :loveya:

19. Yes, I was adopted when I was 6.
I'm the oldest, and my sister is 11 months younger than me. That summer, my mom got pregnant with my baby brother. In that respect, it was a wonderful summer, and my lil bro is one of the lights of my life. :)
