hoping that you would come my way ...

You left by darkness in the night ...
to start your annual flight ...

No moonlight travels ...
as your journey unravels ...

You left by night ...
to complete your flight ...

I'll continue to keep feeders out until the temperatures freeze overnight because I've seen stray hummers as late as mid-October ...

I've noticed the feeding frenzy and visual imprinting for days ...

so I knew.
