10. Ohhhh, mangos!
A little off topic, but have you ever tried mango lassi? It's an Indian drink.

3 cups yogurt (I prefer organic)
1 cup mango purée, fresh (I prefer fresh) or canned Indian Alphonso mango purée
1/2 cup sugar
1 tray ice cubes

Put all the ingredients in a blender and blend until the ice is crushed and the liquid is frothy. Serve immediately in tall glasses. (The drink will keep, covered, for up to 3 days in the refrigerator. Whip again before serving.)

Simply yummy!

12. I know it and am close to trying it
I like yogurt more in salty mode or as a sauce - mmm tsaziki etc. don't care for it with fruit or honey, generally.

Don't care for Ayran (spell?) either though. Salt, yougurt and cold, preferably sparkling water - supposed to be refreshing, looks too much like buttermilk. (eeewwww)

15. Oh, mango lassi is excellent
you must try it. Thanks for the tzatziki tip. I'm not familiar with it, but sounds yummy and I'll be sure to try it. Naturally with organic cucumbers. tee hee!

11. mangos and papayas
Mangos. Nature's dental floss and very fertile trees.

papayas- for the impatient tropical gardener who must have fruit from seed planting in one year!

If I could still be in the tropics... I have seen papayas as big as watermelons.

Oh, the longing has begun.

13. Where are you?
Even in small town Safeway they are pretty regular. Of course close to the border.

14. Along the East Coast midway...
I can tell they come in frozen. Just like the avocados.

"I'm chiquita banana
and I'm from the equator
so please don't put me
in your refrigerator..."

Same should go for these foods.

The papayas are so small. When they are huge and ripe, they are the best, but there is no way to ship them as they break apart easily.

I lusted after them in Venezuela. I admit it. I even ate mangos. Maybe 1,000 of them. They were free as these trees are everywhere and people share them.
