2. Her great-grandmother
(my mother's mother) born in 1901
was able to sit on her hair when she was a young
school teacher.

4. I would actually ask her that question...
Since she's the one taking care of it, most likely!

Or did she ask you to ask us....

IMHO, it's not too long...for me it would be but that's ME!

7. I mostly wanted you all to see
how well my daughter takes cares of herself.
She will be twenty-one in the first week of October.
I have been the custodial parent since she was three years old.
We are all lucky to have lived this long.

Is this the little girl I carried?

8. I hear that!
Raising children to responsible adulthood is the TOUGHEST job evah!

Congratulations to all of you for having survived this period...

Trust me, it does get easier from here on out...if you did your job correctly, that is!

would not be nearly as happy as it is....

This is a magical place, truly magical...especially the Lounge, and especially at night...

There are a few of us who inhabit the Lounge at night, and we trek around and post in each other's threads...

We've become good friends, and the web of our friendship goes around the globe...

Sometimes I can almost literally feel the connection of love between me and all my friends...

I hope this will happen to you, as well...:loveya:

22. Ah yes, my dear Ptah...
I remember your posting this pic before...and I commented on it, I believe...IIRC....

That is WONDERFUL!

Was that from the 1991 total solar eclipse?

My husband, our two daughters and I went to Hawai'i to see it...

We very nearly got clouded over...but managed to find a relatively sunny location to see it....

It was incredible...

Thank you for this pic....

25. That was the eclipse of 1978
My brother went to Livingston, Montana in 1978
I think it was Februrary.

He spoke of the cold and clear sky.

23. Sunrise, Sunset.

(Tevye)
Is this the little girl I carried?
Is this the little boy at play?

(Golde)
I don't remember growing older
When did they?

(Tevye)
When did she get to be a beauty?
When did he get to be so tall?

(Golde)
Wasn't it yesterday
When they were small?

28. I was remembering these lyrics above with your daughter's young
pic...but couldn't remember them accurately...

Thank you for posting them...

This musical "Fiddler on the Roof" is the only one my husband has ever liked...he says it is the only musical with a bite to it!

I LOVE this song...and all of them...but as a mom, this one really sings to me...How true it is...

9. It's not an issue of length, it's an issue of...
mmmmm, i hate to say it... but, you know, presentation.

A brush, some good posture, a tucked in shirt... she'd look like a different person. Especially the good posture.

That hair could really sing with some good posture.

And, not wearing a t-shirt as the sole top.

I bet she'd look awesome with her back straight and her head up and her legs held so they have the same length (so that the right hip isn't dipping below the left one). And I mean AWESOME!

14. Too long for what?
It's longer than I'd want my own hair, because I'd rather not bother with it that long.

It takes longer to wash and dry.

It gets too hot and sweaty for me.

However, it's her hair, not mine.

So long as it is taken care of there is no problem. I'd love to have long thick hair like that. Alas mine is thin, fine and brittle so I can't grow it that long. :-(

30.  it's freaking gorgeous
but it's still just hair. I'm over 50 years of age and have long hair - my husband's hair is even longer than mine. It does not take that much time or intelligence to maintain healthy long hair. Does it make a statement? Maybe - depending on the viewer. Should the length of hair matter in the overall view of things? No. Hair is decorative - it can be fun and whimisical. In my case - and your daughter's - more is better! Cool!

45. I donated mine to Locks of Love
www.locksoflove.org

I cut it of 1.5 years ago (on Valentine's Day, as a "gift" for my ex-wife) and donated it to these fine folks. It was about halfway down my back when I did it, and I got a ponytail about 8-10" long.
