The Dirk Bogarde Appreciation thread....
...Who can resist Dirk Bogarde?

With his role as the sweet, yet sensitive chickenhawk in "Death in Venice", he reminded us all why older men leer at young nubile boys...

And then, there was the heart warming tell of the sadistic former SS officer in "The Night Porter", which reminded us how heart-warmingly kinky an ex-Nazi could be...

Ya' gotta love Dirk Bogarde....

2. Yes, actually The Night Porter was a rather shocking movie in its....
...day. I remember it wasn't shown in a lot of areas.

4. But it was the "best" of that whole softcore Nazi chic genre that...
briefly flourished in the 70s. Perhaps the ultimate in Eurotrash cinema.
And Charlotte Rampling's song and dance number has been a long time guilty pleasure. A very guilty pleasure.

3. Wow. He looked VERY different when he was on the A-Team & Galactica
I guess I don't remember those earlier roles.

5. I always think of him as General Browning in "A Bridge Too Far"
