With the stupid fuck with the van:

And then the first 9-11 documentary on how Canadian towns were able to, within a couple hours, provide housing and food for tens of thousands of stranded, and our government intentionally refused to let Americans help fellow Americans in NO and LA:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=105x3976794

And then the second 9-11 documentary bringing back bad memories:

Now, there's a show on about Hawaii, my precious homeland, which I miss so terribly much I can't even listen to Hawaiian music or look at pictures unless I'm really drunk and sad.

Argh!!

What a shitty day.

Oh, and it rained today, and I got wet and cold, and my throat hurts.

1. Oh my dear Rabrrrrrr....
I am so sorry about all your troubles...plus no one answered your thread...

Until now...

I don't know where you live, so probably you're asleep by now...

I hope so, anyhow...and so when you get up tomorrow, Friday, you'll find my silly response...

And just maybe it'll bring a smile to your face, and to your heart...

I do hope things get better for you...

:loveya:  :pals:

8. Thanks for answering!
I was in a bit of a self-pity mood last night. It felt good, though.

Every now and then, it can be cathartic.

Thanks for the smile!

10. Yeah, the throat's fine - it was just one of those temporary "the air is
cold and moist, but not cold like you need a jacket, but cold enough you can feel it in the throat" kinda throat pain.

5. Oh, man. I'm sorry you miss Hawaii.
I miss it, too, and I've never even been there. I just realized the other day that ALL, count 'em ALL of my current favorite things at the moment come from Hawaii, including my favorite water, my favorite candles and my favorite perfume. Better times, fellow Hawaii-lover.

11. Rabrrrrr, don't let it get you down
My precious homeland....

I don't go a day without missing San Francisco and having it tear at my heart...

But the rest - get angry. I'm beginning to think only righteous anger will save us. Sadness will get us nowhere. Angry men and women, a tribe of anger, might have a chance...

Khash.

16. I'd practically be willing to kill to be there again
Though mostly I miss Manoa Valley and the Big Island and Kauai. North Shore is always fun to go watch waves and walk the beach, but as a non-surfer scaredy-cat, twenty, thirty minutes is enough for me, and time to move on to: Kailua beach!

20. No, never surfed. I'm very uncoordinated.
Can't even boogie board.

And no sunbathing for me, either - I'm VERY haole, and burn easily. :-)

I spent little time on the North Shore, mostly I stayed on the other side of the line between Nanakuli, Wahiawa, and Kaneohe.

21. Rabrrrrrrr, let me tell you something.
If you lived near, you would be here
eating my chips and drinking my beer
sitting round the table playing cards
(or sleeping in the guest room, sleeping hard)

-- here to share space with another pissed, hurt soul
sharing space is helpful, I learned twenty years ago
a friend back then took me in when I needed space
to stretch my heart and let hot tears spill off my face

it helps just to get away and rest in the bosom of someone who loves you and knows you're hurting. that person doesn't need to tend to you every moment. that person doesn't have to be in the same room in the house -- that person doesn't even have to be IN the house. and you might not even need or want to talk or unburden or vent. maybe you just want to veg and watch tv or read a book or sleep 23 hours or eat dinner and talk about nothing important. what matters is being in a place where you're safe, warm, fed, loved, and you know time is passing. time is the ONLY thing that heals some things.
