My Uncle was really disturbed by Barbara Bush's comment on ....
the people evacuated from NOLA to Texas. I told him about it today, then I told him about her "Beautiful mind" quote last year too. He just looked wounded. Isn't it awful how little empathy and how out of touch these people are?

It's a pretty sick mind that thinks along those lines. You could see it in Sonny boy too when he was talking about rebuilding Trent Lott's house or when he was listing off all the stuff the feds have done or are going to do, without showing any compassion to the victims. What is with these people?

1. Lack of any kind of empathy
All of the Bushes have it; Bar is the absolute worst, though, and W has inherited it to the max. I'm convinced there's some dark, dark shit going on in that family; it just oozes out of their personalities..

2. I heard W. was kind of effed up by
his sister's death as a child. And, that his parents never showed much emotion over it and never gave him much love as he coped with her death. Something like that. The way I heard it made me sad for that little boy. Maybe that and his priveleged upbringing helped make him so cold and out of touch. But, they all lack any ability to have compassion. You hit that dead on. I couldn't handle being like that myself.

3. I think President Rove is staying up nights right now trying to
figure out how to make the Kennedy's responsible for this disaster.

4. I wouldn't expect a woman who
played golf the day after her daughter died, didn't tell her oldest son his little sister died until two days later, and didn't attend her own mother's funeral to have empathy for anyone. I truly feel sorry for anyone raised in that family. However once they become adults and start spreading misery my sympathy for them is over.

5. This morning on the news
I was only listening, not watching... but, it was stated that the authorities in New Orleans are going to begin "voluntary, forced evacuations of hold-outs". Voluntary, yet forced, WTF?!? I thought one had the right to their own property in this country. If someone chooses to remain on their property, even in a devastated area, then they should have that right.
With the rethugs in charge of this country, I guess they know what's right for everyone else :sarcasm:; we are nothing more than mindless livestock to them.

6. voluntary yet forced?
WTF? Is damn right. I'm going to allow one of the gorgeous young women I have in my classes to have voluntary, forced sex with me. See how far that holds up in court. Blah... I think Orwell must be sitting back reveling in what a freaking genius he was during his time down on earth. He had Bush and Co. figured out before they even really existed. Thanks for that little bit of info LW, I didn't know that yet.
