12. that sure sounds busy
but that way the day passes faster. It isn't that I don't have things to do, but sometimes I am not really in the mood to work, then DU is there to help me over the time. Or when I am alone at work and no one comes to the library. With DU I don't feel so alone.

3. Icky stuff, I'm afraid.
I'll be checking in to the hospital tonight, so it won't be too much fun. Hopefully they won't keep me long.

Have fun with your mom! I bet she's excited to see her girl. :)

and you better be out quick

my mom hasn't seen me in two weeks, that is quite a short time span. Sometimes it is a bit longer that I don't see her. But after this weekend I will see her again in 3 weeks.

13. It's good that you get to see your mom so much.
I haven't seen my mom in months. I miss her. Enjoy some home-cooked meals while you're there.

As for the hospital, I've been dealing with really bad head pain for a long time now and they need to run some test to make sure that it isn't anything serious. As much as I don't want to go I will feel better to get this taken care of. It's had me worried for a while.

Hopefully it won't keep me away from here too long. I'd miss you all too much.

I really do appreciate that. I'm definitely the sort of person who would rather know what's going on, even if it's really bad, than just go on not knowing. I'm much more scared of the unknown than the known.

And peace be with you, too.

Class late this afternoon, then work a 12 hour night shift, go home and sleep, get up and work another 12 hour night shift Saturday, ditto Sunday night, and then wake up by 2:30 Monday afternoon, and get ready to go to class again by 4. Then I'm off for a couple of days. :boring:

When I found out how much professional painters charge, I decided to do it myself. I have discovered that painting sheetrock is like painting a sponge; it just sucks up the paint.

50. My Trike still goes in for repairs on 9/19 but I'm good to go till then...
My mechanic returned from his vacation this week so I rode out for him to take a quick look ... Bob looked at my trike, took the wheel off, adjusted, my right rear spring, put the wheel on, added air to the air shocks, took the wheel back off, readjusted the spring ... and said "it shouldn't be like that" ... duh HELLO *light bulb going off* the trike is OK to ride until I bring it in for repairs on 9/19 ~ but ~ I am going to keep it close to home.

BTW ~ I need a new front tire after my rear end is fixed.

76. Aw, you've got a good memory, Joan!
Yes, this is related to the same problems that I had before. The strange headaches that don't respond to medication. Actually, I stayed off-line for a while after that due to my illness. We sort of lost touch here on the board due to that. I had a really horrible doctor (boy, could I tell you some stories about him!) and now hopefully I'm going to find out what's going on.

We did PM about my cat! Remember I was dreading giving the old man a bath! Ah, memories. You gave me a lot of good advice back then.

with potato salad and corn muffins...

Yummm Yummm....

Then tomorrow, I thought I'd hire me out a boy to cut the grass... But this is the suburbs and none of the boys or girls, for that matter, will stoop to manual labor anymore....

So I guess I'll have to fend off the reverend next door...

He's gettin' mighty PO since my carefully cultivate "weed" garden is evacuatin' to his well manicured suburban lawn....

Other than that, not much....

tomorrow, and we're staying out all night on a girls' night out kinda trip. That way we don't have to race back --it's like a two hour drive for Barb, and about 1 hour, 15 min trip for me. We'll have DVDs to watch, snacks for the motel, games to play (the Scrabble board is great to have!) and learn how to use our new cameras!

We'll also eat a dinner out (though if it's another Friendly's, I think I'll barf!) and just have fun. Hopefully, it will give us a chance to relax and enjoy the world. :)

80. Oh, yes!
45 mins of my choice of torture, uh, I mean exercise.

Weights (free and machine), aerobic step, floor mat, exercise ball, treadmill, elliptical rider, or outside on the track for windsprints and interval training drills, or distance running. We can do it all!

62. Good morning!
I am going to Wagonwheel Lake in the Olympics (in WA). I hiked it once this summer--and I want to do it one more time. It is extremely challenging as it is UP a long way! But, it is worth it--a jewel of a lake nestled in the wilderness.

70. Ooh, that sounds beautiful.
Being in the south, our best hiking doesn't even start until things start to cool off. I'll be communing with the live oaks in a couple more months :)

91. "communing with the live oaks"
Sounds like poetry in the making! I love going deep in the woods or high in the mountains away from the rat-race. It replenishes me.

72. My best friend's daughter turned 16 yesterday...
so we're having her birthday party this weekend. She and I are gonna make her a rainbow colored, gay pride birthday cake. Every year she gets whatever kind of cake she wants and that's what she decided on this year. So we'll bake a cake. Probably go out to dinner. And then likely watch the UT-Ohio State football game since both her parents and I are all alumni.
