So I'm watching SFU dvds and this happens...
Claire and Edie kiss. And this girl says "That's disgusting! It makes me feel sick!"

Huh?

I mean if lesbianism ain't your thang, cool. But sick? Disgusting? Wouldn't indifference be the correct response?

I told her she was "fucking pathological". She said that girls kissing girls made her want to puke. And I told her I could only view that response as pathology.

So who's right? Me or her?

(I don't really want an answer, I just wanted to vent. I know I'm right.)

Khash.

2. Trust a straight guy
to defend girl on girl sex

Actually, I was a little dishonest... that "girl" was my mother. She keeps saying she's OK with the gay thing. But.... my last boyfriend was one of the most beautiful men I've ever seen. Her response to him? "What a waste!"

I think she has issues....

3. That was what I was thinking
"Trust a straight guy to defend girl on girl sex"

Now, how would Joe Average Straight Guy react to seeing two men kissing?

4. Hey. it's everyman's dream.....
To bad I was born a generation to late...

It seems the youngsters are much more free about their sexuality than those of us in our 40's....

5. Excuses, Mr. Green
I'm almost 40 and have been very open about my sexuality (in case you haven't noticed) and how fluid it can be. I identify as gay (since I am) but I strongly doubt the last woman I was with will, in fact, be the last.(The scene where Edie masturbates in front of Claire - "I'll come for you" - got me, let's be discreet and say aroused. And I prefer guys!)

Age is no excuse, dude.

7. Hey........
She is as she is, and it doesn't get in your way, right?

She accepts you and loves you as you are, so I think you owe her the same respectful behavior.

We all don't like the same things, and my idea of a great sandwich just might make you gag, so let's keep in mind that sauce for the goose really is sauce for the gander.

8. That would be cool OLL
if respect worked in both directions. It doesn't. I respect her marriage and her feelings. Her religion.

But continually being told "it's OK you're gay, but it's totally disgusting"?

She's actually a really nice lady most times... but.

I stood there in her kitchen recently and listened to her go on a rant about how her gay son would never give her grandchildren. But I did - I have a daughter - and it will be a cold day in hell before she knows about her.

Maybe you have to be gay to understand, but constantly having it pointed out how repulsive, disgusting, evil, less human than all the nice straight people you are. Well, it gets to be a drag....

Khash.

11. Oh, that's not part of your original post
You're changing the rules as we go along. Now you tell me that she's telling you that your being gay is disgusting.

Eh.

No, you don't have to be gay to understand. Don't marginalize or isolate yourself like that. She's being nasty to you, straight or gay. Why stick around for it?

I'd walk, and let her find me. Mother or not - and I'm a mother - no one gets away with treating anyone else like that.

You have a daughter, you didn't tell your mother about her. Sounds to me like there are more issues there than your mother's feelings about homosexuality.

But, I wish you good luck. It'll get better, I really hope that for you.

18. I didn't entirely change the rules...
My original post said that she found two girls kissing to be disgusting, sickening, and made her want to vomit.

Kinda made the point really. I only expanded on it.

You're right about not marginalizing or isolating myself. It's good advice. I often feel that way lately. While it's not always true that you can only be victimized if you let someone victimize you, it often is. It's good to be reminded of that fact To be reminded I only lose my strength when I give it away...

And it's damn great to see you O.L.L.! Where have you been?

No one messes with one of O.L.L.'s sweet little DUers and gets away with it.

Not even you.

You're grand, and don't you ever think otherwise. Not while O.L.L. is around. You hear?

So your Mom has these ideas. As I said, "Eh."

Personally, whenever I see spaniels kissing, it makes me want to vomit. Think your Mom and I would hit it off?

<smooch>

13. I;m talking about the acceptance of bi-sexuality
now.... When I was 20, it was not even really discussed...

Now, my fiends who are in the twenties, all, have seemed to acted on their bi sexuality and free admit it.

When I was in my twenties, not one person I knew admitted it...

14. The times they are a-changin' my dear Chris...
Our society as a whole...at least the parts I'm familiar with, has become a lot more accepting and open about alternate lifestyles..

And I find this wonderful...the last thing this Puritan-ridden nation needs is a continuing hang-up with sex...

As long as people are not hurt, and the children are protected...

Then what difference does it make who you go to bed with? Consenting adults above a certain age have every right to do just what they want privately...

I feel this one very strongly...

Now I simply MUST sign off and get in that shower..

Hope your day is going well...

19. Well if it's something you feel
Admit it! Talk about it! And if it ain't what you feel - talk about it!

We don't discriminate against old guys

Sexuality is much more complex than the rather odd categories we seem to have agreed on.

But I still think you are using age as an excuse. Sure, it would have been great to be free and open in your twenties - but if you can be open now, why not? The world has changed!

Age only matters if you let it matter....

So get over it Chris!

From the age excuse to the geography excuse.

You've hinted that you have bisexual curiosity - well maybe, maybe not, you're very vague. Is it the bisexuality that you find appealing or the sexual openness?

This is a pretty good place to discuss it. I've discussed my homosexuality, my sadomasochism, my marriage, fatherhood, my drug use, working in the porn industry, my time as a prostitute.... And no one has slammed me for any of it.

So what's up, buddyboy? Into girls but wanna feel free to talk about it openly? Curious about guys?

21. If a dude came up to me and kissed me, it would be like a really
ugly woman coming up and kissing me, I'd likely just walk away.

Unless it was meegbear, but I have a sneaking suspicion that if it was meegbear, it wouldn't stop at the unsolicited kissing :scared:
