Poll question: Are you a New Orleans Saints fan?
They just won today.

Also, they're an NFL football team, BTW, forced to play "away" games all season.

1. No. I'm an Eagles fan.
But I'm glad the "Aints" beat the Panthers today.

4. Same here
I mean, this isn't the Cowboys. Hell the earth could open wide and suck in the entire city of Dallas and I'll still hate the cowboys.

But I'm glad the Saints won today!

2. Not a fan (Packer fan)
but won't hurt my feelings in the least bit if they do extremely well this season.
I'm buying Saints gear for baby shower presents this year (5 showers over the next 2 months). Seems fitting.

3. No.
I'm a (proud?) Vikings fan. Always have been and always will be.

I very rarely, if ever, jump on a bandwagon.

5. I have been a Saints fan since the early 1990s...
...I see Aaron Brooks coming into 'top form' this season. I believe in the Saint's special team's stategies.... and the coach, eh.... he could be worse....

6. No! Fuck them!
And if Dallas got hit by an H-bomb tomorrow and their team happened to escape, I'd still root against those bastards.

7. Yup.
I'm from New Orleans; it's pretty much etched into my psyche that I must like the Saints, even when there's that urge to call them "The Aints" and put a paper bag on my head.

Other than the Saints (okay, and Brett Favre & Tom Brady - YUM!), I could care less about football. I have a running joke at wherever I work as the years go by.. whenever the topic of football comes-up, I just smile and brag about how "the Saints are going to go all the way this year!"

8. Yes. i always have been and always will be.
Even in times when it made absolutely no sense whatsoever. I didn't become a fan when the Aaron Brooks era began(), or when Ricky Williams was drafted, I've been a fan since the Bobby Hebert days. BTW, that was when I was 8.

All Saints fans represent, goddammit!

11. Besides the Bears, I have never been happier to see a team win
than the Saints today. It really does lift spirits in a time of despair when your team wins.

12. As a former Joe Montana/Steve Young 49'ers fan, I'm vulnerable right now..

I could easily root for New Orleans no matter how bad they might be (and I have no idea - I don't follow a lot of football any more).

They're kind of like a man without a country - they're a team without a home stadium. Hell, even their home town was destroyed.

So I'll root for them just to spite Bunnypants, Pickles and Cashcart.

13. story about that
Edited on Mon Sep-12-05 12:46 AM by shugah
before i ever paid much attention to football another couple + my then current squeeze and i were watching football - because my friends bf was a saints fan (he was a louisiana guy who taught me how to pronounce louisiana, so okay). "sigh. whatever!" with less than 2 minutes to go in the game, and the saints trailing by 15ish he said he'd bet any or all of us 50 bucks that the saints would win. as mentioned, i didn't know much about football at the time but i was pretty sure the saints were going to lose. i took the bet, as did the rest of us.

i could tell that he was heartbroken when the saints actually did lose. it taught me something about being a fan (and i'm from detroit! ;-) ). the saints have always been, and always will be one of my top 5 football teams. teams that have fans like that well deserve the admiration.

on edit: he really did think the saints could and would win

What kinda dipshit voted "Dunno"??? Especially "still waiting for the saints to come marchin' in"! Stoooopid answer.

Wait... oh, yeah... that's right... it was me. :-(

Didn't want to tip the scales.
