How are you different on DU than in real life?

Actually, since DU is my escape, I would probably say that I'm more serious in real life.

Also, I display more overt love for my favorite Dems here. It's not that my friends and family hate us, but they "care about other things right now."

And by that I mean that I am actually more "conventionally" attractive than one might assume, from some of the things I've posted here.

I've always been shy.

what I perceive to be an intelligent and involved audience... Also, I learn so much from you people!

But sometimes it really takes me away from what I should be doing -- reviewing books and movies, making dinner, walking and swimming for health.

I don't have anyone to spend long times with on some of my longer and more thoughtful posts--in real life, my attention span is severely shortened. Since writing is one of the things I love to do, it's difficult when I don't have anyone to talk with about things. Perhaps if I went back to classes for writing, I might do well, but I just don't have any to talk with for the most part when it comes to things like this.

Hopefully that's a good thing.

Not that I'm not polite in person, but here I think a lot more before I speak/post and in RL I tend to be a little more off the cuff and relaxed which, if I was like that here, would make me look like a bastard. (It's that whole lack of vocal inflection in typed words thing).

Also, I swear more in RL. :D

I am quite sure that many here say things that they would not say offline. I do not mean bad things. The screen between us that the message board provides avails us an opportunity to paint a picture of ourselves, which in turn gives us confidence that we might not possess offline.

I can't say I'm more serious because I'm not. My life is kind of serious and stressful at times, but I don't let it get to me and remain a pretty affable person. I'm not shy, but I can be slow to warm up to people at times, so I can come across as shy (but it often seems to manifest itself as being "stuck-up" which isn't the case). I'm probably a bit more warm and funny in person. I'm also more likely to tell people off and assert myself in reality (no tombstones lurking over my head if I do). There's many sides of myself that people don't see here (and likely most of you wouldn't see in person) because my strongest vulnerabilities and that which matters most belong to myself and very few people I choose to let in.

I suppose I'm the same "me", it's just enhanced. :D

On DU I think that I am sometimes grave and often whimsical, which I think is also how I behave offline, but your impressions of me may vary.
