So I had a minor screaming fit today.... How was yours?
Took car into shop because Check Engine light has been coming on (and with this thing, I don't dare work on it - I might upset the gerbils or something.... I miss my 68 Bug.) but the dang light wouldn't come on today. They interfaced the computers.... no dice. Nothing wrong. Get out of there at 5 pm, just in time for rush hour.

Leave. 5 miles later, Check Engine light comes on!!! Bitch car!!!!!

Early morning appointment for 2nd try tomorrow.

Traffic was okay, not great not terrible. Spent day listening to Dude Where's My Country on audiobook and walking around Longmont, which is a scary little town, looking for a power plug for my laptop and (hopefully) wifi. No dice, but the book is scarily interesting.

Coming home, I hear Paul Brenner say "The situation in Iraq is a low-level conflict." (Quote from NPR)

At which point, I pulled over onto a side street, parked my car, and screamed at the radio.

"Are you blind? Are you insane? What color is the fucking sky in your fucking world?" and similar comments.

100K troops is NOT a minor conflict.

Amazingly, I feel much better. I know radio is not interactive, but just saying it lifted some of the free-floating anxiety I've had this week.

After screaming like a lunatic at a disembodied voice, I realized how very foolish I must be to be doing so and laughed at myself in a way I haven't laughed in probably weeks. That helped too.

For the first time in weeks, the writers' block I've been living with seems to be easing.

How was your day?

1. My van was fixable
It wasn't the oxygen sensor. It was the #4 spark plug. Still cost $212 CAN 'cause all the plugs had to be replaced with platinum. But they'll last the life of the vehicle (or 150000 k)

2. My day?
Three classes with time in between them spent sleeping. Now I'll probably be up half the night and not want to get out of bed tomorrow morning. Pretty boring I guess.
