I have to saw a hole through the side of my computer desk. No one can connect a darned thing.

My cell phone is a camera phone. I bought all of the docking hardware to link it directly to my computer but I'm still waiting for access to the tower

16. I haven't lived near the ocean in eight years

since I lived in Maryland, and even then, it was a couple hours away. For some reason, I like the Pacific better than the Atlantic, and I've never spent more than a week on the West Coast.

65. I agree....Chicago is one beautiful town....

When my daughter was a graduate student at the University of Chicago, and she was turning 25...I went back for a 2 week visit...

The town really impressed me...great food, jazz, and all that...

Plus it was in the fall, so no high temps or humidity...beautiful...

The trees were turning also....The brief beautiful days of fall...

So I can hardly blame you for wanting to stay there.....

The California coastline beaches is what I miss most about the state.
Whenever I needed to get right with the world, being at the ocean was a sure rememdy. Sometimes it meant renting a beach-side residence for a few months. :7

I remember the first time I saw the Pacific Ocean...I was a child of about 8, I guess..

I'd read about it, and was very excited to see it...and when it came into view from over a hill, I could hardly contain myself.....

I felt as though no-one had EVER seen it before...

Someday you must come to the West Coast and have a good, long look...

There are beautiful spots for several thousand miles all up and down...

I know that that would be the one thing I'd miss the most....

It nearly always lifts my spirits when I see it...and it's only about a 10 minute drive away....

Of course, parking down there is a bit of a problem!

I've only been to California once, actually twice... One day I had a twelve hour layover in LAX enroute to Japan (does that count?). Then on the return flight I actually got to see the freeway from LAX to Camp Pendleton where I spent six days while being separated from the Marines. Then I was privileged to see the San Diego airport.

I've been all over the world (four continents, eighteen countries and crossed two global lines: the Arctic Circle and the Equator), but never to the western regions of the US. I've been from Nova Scotia to Miami, but westward I've only made as far as Hattiesburg, MS, and Louisville, KY.

I miss the ocean. Upstate NY is great, the mountains are awesome, but as a former Jersey girl I have to say, I really miss the ocean. If I could I would spend hours every day just listening to the sound of the surf and watching the waves break. Thanks for sharing.

I haven't seen that area of the country in 15 years but your picture jogged my memory well.
It's funny how we all live in these different landscapes across this country and the landscapes begin to become us. That or we become our landscapes. Who knows? I'm thinking too much.

I had JUST started using it that month, January of this year....

So the picture was accidentally good, not intentionally at all...

In fact, by word of mouth just that morning, someone had told me that there was a delay between my pushing the shutter button and the lens actually opening...so I had to take that new info into consideration when taking this pic....

One of these days, I just might post some more vacation pics....
