1. I'm pretty sure it is El-lee.
I guess v-cell is about right, if you use the accent correctly.

I have heard it multiple times "ellie" for the first name, like Ellie May from the Waltons... and, "wessel" like Chekov on Star Trek looking for nuclear wessels!

His last name I've heard both as Vee-ZEL and VEE-zil, more often the former.
