Houston news says Rita's coming here
Very little doubt about it at this point. We plan to leave town if she does come here, hopefully the trailer will be here when we get back.

6. They're moving everyone from Reliant and the
George R. Brown Convention Center to other places. They didn't say where, but they won't be in Houston any more.

13. Yeah...according to Channel 2
There are specific evac routes different areas. (Everybody HERE take 45, everybody HERE take 59...) We'll get out, I'm not worried about that.

18. Yes'm, there are plenty of good evacuation routes...
One thought, the motels toward Louisiana are probably still full.

5. It's really way too early to tell
Right now, it's suppose to hit the lower keys, and then after that, it could wind up anywhere, including doing a U-turn back into Florida.

11. strongly agree about it being too early (although I think it's fair to say
that some area of the gulf coastline in Texas will be affected.)

15. The projected path cone has it going anywhere from
Louisiana to Brownsville...but likely coming here.

16. the projected path can often be a compromise so that
multiple ways of thinking fit into the path cone... It's really quite early to say likely coming to Houston... when I would say the MOST likely track is a little south of Galveston.

But certainly stay on your toes... and if you live in a low lying area, make preparations tomorrow... and even consider going tomorrow.
If you don't... just make preparations and wait till Wednesday I would think.

17. I live in a trailer
The area is fairly low-lying, but not extremely. We won't be leaving town until Wednesday at the earliest. Just getting everything ready in case it does head this way.

19. I am so glad I bought my old house, it's 75 years old and in high
area.

What I am worried about is all the new townhouses that have been build in the last few years, they are made out of crap lumber and some of them are 3 stories tall with big windows.

Many of them are built in flood plains, add to that high winds.

I have been afraid of a big storm hitting Houston, this is going to bad.
