RANT about Major League Baseball and god damned frickin' viagra!

"Cast your vote for the MLB Comeback Player of the Year Presented by Viagra"

NO! God dammit, I am sick and fucking tired of hearing about this fucking drug, along w/ levitra and cialis! Jesus Christ! If medical researchers/pharmaceutical companies put a quarter of the time, energy, and MONEY into finding cures for cancer and AIDS that they put into developing these drugs, WE COULD HAVE CURES BY NOW.

AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Everyone knows I love baseball but this is fucking ridiculous!

It's a stupid ad campaign for a not-very-well-devised award, no doubt about it, but I wonder if they thought the whole thing through, and if they did, what the hell they were thinking going through with it with all the obvious jokes.

I already subscribe to the theory that Big Pharm intentionally avoids finding a cure for diabetes, AIDS and cancer etc. becasue they make so much money on the "maintenance" and "survival" drugs and hardware.

And don't even get me started about how you can use insurance for your weiner juice and not for birth control. Sounds kinda counter-productive to me. What a load of shit.

I appreciate this topic. It's horseshit.

6. Maybe I should've emphasized that the waste of research funds

was my main point. It's just that that's the second email I'd rec'd from MLB to vote on this stupid award, and I can't go to any MLB team's web site without seeing the stupid ad, and I can't view any MLB vid clip without seeing a video ad!! In which a bat cracks, a ball flies, and an announcer says, "ATTABOY!" :grr:

It's all about the dick. I have had similar dark thoughts about the fact that a blood test was developed for prostate cancer -- that's a good thing, but god dammit, where's a blood test for ovarian or cervical or breast cancer?

but will not think twice about dispensing ED drugs. It is okay for men to have sex, but not women.

Everyone knows that a woman who wants birth control is fucking around indiscriminately. And - worse - a woman who wants a morning after pill couldn't POSSIBLY be having sex only w/ her husband. :eyes:

that is the moral disconnect there!

I used to work in a pharmacy when Viagra first came out. I would say at least 50% of the time the Viagra was for men who wanted to impress their girlfriends who were 20-30 years their junior!

12. I've found that to be bullshit too.

If I had a BF he could go out and buy all the pills he wanted and the insurance companies would cover it. But I could not get them to cover my pills a few years ago when I needed them(and it wasn't even for birth control-other problems).
Pisses me off!
