All of a sudden my phone is giving me static when I try and get a dial tone. Then it says, "Out of range." I'm about 2 feet from the base unit. Why is it doing this? I plugged in my old (corded) phone and it works fine.
Two years in a row, I've received a cordless phone for Christmas.
It has a NICD 3.6V battery pack. It looks like 3 batteries wrapped in yellow plastic with two wires coming out of it that are attached to a white plug in the phone thingy. Where do you buy these things?
but I love my corded phone. My cordless was nearly a prototype and lasted years. I think the newer ones are cheap pieces of shit. Do you keep it recharged all the time? How long since you changed the battery?
sometimes it doesn't seat right, or the contacts are dirty. Take a pencil eraser and rub the contacts with it-that's what the phone store people did with mine once and it worked like a charm...
