I know none of these are possible, but, believe me, it's good advice. There's nothing like Hollywood to drive you insane. I've had books of mine in development for the past seven years. While the options money is very, very nice, it's also maddening to watch these morons dither, always looking for the next big thing.

I hope to hell you come away with a HUGE deal. But, get yourself an agent. Don't deal directly with anyone. You'll get yourself eviscerated before you even know it. If you already have a literary agent, get him/her to link you up with someone in the movie business. I'm with UTA.

Best of luck to you. Go long, go deep, and break their banks. But, don't let them break your heart.
