He's always been pro-us, but sometimes it gets a little old :P

not enough to watch his show, but I enjoy reading his jokes on DU.

she used to tell me I look just like him. That was ten years ago, though.

Anyway, did you see Letterman when he hosted Limbaugh and Bush (two separate shows)? I don't enjoy Letterman's humor as much as I used to, but those shows were AWESOME.

Limbaugh was playing his normal role - a jerk. As I recall, he made some crack about some individual (Hillary Clinton?) being ugly. Letterman shot back with something like this: "Well, Rush, you should know - you're such a fine physical specimen."

Limbaugh came off that program looking like a side of fried skunk.

When Letterman hosted Dubya, Bush provided the humor. It was just after Letterman had heart surgery, and Bush said something about cutting Letterman open and sewing him back up. It was his attempt at humor, but it came out so incredibly macabre and childish, it just made me shudder. Letterman just stared with that look that says, "Is this guy nuts?"

I'd LOVE to have videotapes of those two programs.!

Dave sliced him up. Rush claimed Letterman blindsided him, that Letterman was much more 'friendly' in the 'practice' interview. Dave was pretty friendly with Gore. I think he goes easy on those with whom he agrees politically or who would be able to give it back to him. The one Republican who Dave probably wouldn't mess with is Cheney. Like him or not Cheney is very quick on the draw.

It was such a great moment to hear Flush mutter "oh boy, oh boy," under his breath as the crowd cheered for almost a full minute, knowing full well he'd gotten a bitter swallow of his own medicine.

You can tell when Letterman respects his guests - he's genuinely friendly with them. The three times he's had Gore on, they've had a funny and interesting chat. Letterman even went to speak at the class Gore was lecturing at in Colombia - I think he rarely, if ever, does that.

Letterman has been doing nothing but ragging on Bush and Rush and Arnie non stop..I really cant understand some of the Letterman bashing on DU when he clearly has no love for Shrub..True hes not as funny as his early days but IMHO he deserves all the respect of a comidic legend
