I do agree that they were getting out of hand, there was a new one every 2 minutes (and most were repeats or variations of the same thing)

I think the occasional "provocative" thread is welcome, but it DID get out of hand.

He's is endowed with unsanitary thought processes and shows tolerance to other like minded liberals. No pink tutu wearing Democrats are allowed. Yeah, what fascists the admins and mods are. Why, just yesterday I heard them, talking about how they would further their persecution of JackSwift, the One True Freedom Fighter on DU.

Do you really have an overriding desire to see more threads about who wants to fuck who? A few are OK, covering the first page of the forum with them is not. It's creepy.

It sounds to me more like you are a habitual rule-breaker who has his posts removed constantly, and they are tired of explaining to you that you are breaking the rules. Try following them for a while, you might find that you don't get any more "rude emails" from them.

every post I ever had removed, I never had to wonder why. I knew it before I posted. :evilgrin:

It is a stretch to say that their removal was related to editing significant leftist content on DU. (I am agreeing with you, just adding to it.)

The "latest" page should be for news. Lounge threads don't belong there.

this is not a personals forum, it's about politics. I'm not advocating banning free speech. Just take some of your free speech to private messages, please, or designate a forum where that can be done. I don't want to open up the DU and have my kid reading over my shoulder asking what "taking it up the ass" means.

Personally, I think there should be a forum where ANY "taboo" topic should be fair game.

If we want to discuss politics, we'd do on the GD Forum. This is a place to unwind and act silly.

It is already up and running, tawdry and titillating. Sounds great for those who want to compare notes about their sexuality.

It was getting pretty skanky in here.

For those of you who are relatively new, we did not always have a lounge.. This place was created a while back as a "fun" place to take a break from the serious stuff in the other forums..

It's important to have a cool down area like the lounge, BUT when it gets too "creepy" in here for lots of us, and the other forums are so serious, we have nowhere to go..

Sure..we can avoid those threads (and lots do), but the fact that they are there ..right on the front page, no less, makes the lounge less fun.. Kind of like being a guest at a party, where most of the people are drunk and cavorting (noisily) all around you, and you are either expected to "get with the program" , leave, or ignore it..

Before the threads got downright nasty, there were always the "slightly naughty" ones, and people who posted to them had no problem identifying other "playmates"...and if they wanted to private message each other, no one else ever had to know.. That's a fantastic idea, in fact for people who find a kindred pririt on the web.. but they key word is PRIVATE..

Just so everyone knows, I did NOT alert on any of whatever went on today.. I have not even been online today, but I just noticed in the admin question forum that they had been deep-sixed..
