10. Long story....
Readers' Digest version.... Shitty windows in the hotel, shattered when I tried to close one, slicing my wrist, sending me to an emergency room where I waited and waited and waited until finally I left and went to another emergency room. After being up all night, finally made it back to the hotel room around 11am, just as the protest was starting up, with a bunch of stitches in my arm (17 at my count) and grateful that I (barely) missed the tendon and artery.

15. Now that would have been fun!
We could have had a bunch of DUers in the Emergency room with me to distract me. As it was NSMA was a saint... I don't know what I would have done without her.

It was wonderful meeting you Bertha! Next time you are out here, you MUST look us up. :loveya:

17. We'll definitely hook up in O.C.
My best friend was there for me when I broke my ankle ten years ago. We went in at about 10 PM and didn't get home until 5 AM.

Take it real easy. Don't do anything with your arm that would pull your stitches. Make NSMA do all the work. ;)

18. LOL
She does all the cooking as it is :)

The splint definitely helps... otherwise, I'm sure I would have already pulled something out.

(Oh, and progmom sent me that pic.... of your um... hand.... :spank: )

14. Whoa! I underststand that you're a piano player...is this going
to affect your ability to play? It sounds like it won't, not having cut any tendons and all, but I'll bet it'll be painful to get back to playing.

Best of luck to you with the healing.

16. I was told I couldn't play for at least a few weeks...
and it's in a splint right now. Funny you should mention that... I had a dream last night that I was playing the piano. Woke up in a panic that I might have hurt myself doing that. :(

I think it will be ok. I plan to go to an orthopedist after the wound heals to get an opinion on any long-term effects, but so far... I think I'm lucky.

Thanks for the thoughts.

5. Hey! I missed this yesterday.
It's good. When I took the bandage off to clean it the first time, I counted the stitches... got up to 17. Man, it's gonna be one ugly ass scar. But I'm lucky enough that it wasn't worse.

Thanks for asking, darling. :hi:

9. I'm on east coast hours...
Edited on Wed Sep-28-05 07:47 AM by Misunderestimator
My location changed six months ago, but unfortunately not my hours. I am hard at work every day by 5am. So used to it now that I can't sleep past 6 or so on weekends.

11. I know the feeling - I'm up at 5:45am everyday
and I hate it. I'm such a night owl, but I need to be in work early for my job.

Damnit, I need to win a lottery or something!
