2. Mine was 300

not too long ago. Which, incidentally, was the baud rate of the first modem I used. Built in a cardboard box, it required the phone receiver be placed in the cuffs.

I also recall having to load programs from a cassette deck. Those floppy disks were a god-send when they came out, I tell you.

At least I never had to deal with punch-cards...or, like, switching tubes on and off.

5. I still have 2 accoustically coupled 300 baud modems. 74.6 was my

lowest baud rate though, on landline teletypes.
