Travel question
I want to go to Europe next August and I've been messing around looking for ticket prices. I checked ticket prices for November and found they were considerably cheaper than several months later in August. Now, my question is, are they more expensive because its August? Or is it because its very far in advance?

1. summer is high season in most of Europe
I would think the prices would be good till about March or April, and then they will get more expensive.

2. because it's v. far in advance -- however
august is a big vacation time for "europe" even when we acknowledge that europe is a big place

if you want cheap tix, wait until december and see what offers you get for january or february

i'm embarrased to say how cheaply i visited paris this january because you simply wouldn't believe it anyway

wait until 6 weeks before departure & depart in low season, that's how you save money

not buying waaay in advance -- they assume if you buy in advance you must NEED the tix for a wedding or something -- and not buying in august, when all france is on vacation!

you're doing everything wrong, just be cool, play a waiting game, & you'll be surprised at the offers that come yr way

4. I'd go in the off season
but I'm in school. Basically, this would be a post-graduation type thing. I figured August would work best since I should be completely done w/ all my units by then.

3. Because no one travels in November
prices are highest at the times of greatest tourist traveling.

November is cold, snowy, wet, yada yada yada... few people travel, so it's a GREAT cheap time to travel. Not only cheap, but no fucking crowds of asshole Americans by which to be embarrassed, and now crowds anywere...

If I were gonna go to Europe, like Germany, Italy, France, England - I think November would be a perfect time, UNLESS, of course, you want to travel when you can wear shorts and sit on the beaches and stuff like that.

I'm a big fan of October/November travel.
